From April 23rd to May the 2nd Città di Castello offers with L’arte è mobile an opportunity to develop, beside the Renaissance atmosphere of its mansions the remarkable Mobile in Stile – an Italian peculiar piece of furniture – an excellent resource of our territory along with art treasures, historical sites, museum objects and architectural patrimony. An heritage in which are living together the genius of Alberto Burri, a protagonist of the art of the XX century, and the evocative Renaissance suggestions of Raffaello and Signorelli.

L’arte è mobile shows artistic solutions and shapes thought for modern and functional houses and tells about a tradition born in the old town mansions firstly developed as cabinet working and then applied to furnishing. There are almost 240 laboratories with a sales volume of 170 million Euros covering all parts of processing. Continuative research and up to date operators are distinctions of this school of making, specialized on material reutilization together with an ambitious craftsmanship.

Further, the event proposes in the two weekends visits to A. Burri’s Museum and to the second art gallery in Umbria, the Pinacoteca. The artistic itinerary in Città di Castello will include the Duomo Museum with Rosso Fiorentino and the Museum of popular and peasant tradition in Garavelle Villa – on the outskirts – with a renowned small scale train models.
